2018 LIZ HURLEY RIBBON RUN

NEW for 2018:  5k Race & Survivors’ Walk Time Change

  • Survivors’ Walk will be at 8 a.m. In honor of our survivors’ registered for the Survivors’ Walk & 5k, we plan on cheering them on the new route for our Survivor’s Walk.  Join us to cheer on our survivors as we celebrate them!

  • Information about the location and time of the Survivors’ Walk line-up/staging area is COMING SOON!

  • 5k Race will be at 8:30 a.m. Runner Awards will start at 10 a.m.

About the Run

The 2018 Liz Hurley Ribbon Run features a 5K run and a Survivors' Walk. The 5K course will take runners through beautiful downtown Huntsville, including the Twickenham and Old Town Historic Districts. The race will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2018 starting at the corner of Lowe Avenue and Adams Street, and ending at Huntsville Junior High School. The day will begin at 8:00am with our Survivor's Walk. Please be sure to join us and cheer them on! The 5K race will begin at 8:30 am followed by runner awards at 10:00am. 


About the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund

Local news anchor, Liz Hurley, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998. She established the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund in 1999 to support programs that create awareness about breast cancer, and to purchase diagnostic equipment for Huntsville Hospital’s Breast Centers. In 2004, Liz and Huntsville Hospital Foundation – in partnership with the Huntsville Track Club – created the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run to provide diagnostic equipment for the Huntsville and Madison Hospital Breast Centers, as well as funding for a patient assistance fund and the Surviving & Thriving program for local breast cancer survivors.
