"Benjamin Lee Knight, a recent physical therapist graduate from the doctorate program at Alabama State University, died June 4th, 2017 while hiking the mountains of Arizona. Ben was exceptional in all his endeavors and had a gift for making others feel loved, valued, and cared for. His joy was contagious and his compassion remarkable. Ben possessed all the qualities to be an excellent physical therapist, as he willingly and joyfully went the extra mile to serve his patients, and everyone in his life. This race is organized by the Alabama State University Physical Therapy students in honor of Benjamin and the legacy he left, reminding us to live life to the fullest, provide the best care possible to our patients, and to go the extra mile."
