2019 marks the 11th Annual Tri For The Kids Triathlon in Rome, Georgia. The event is USAT sanctioned and open to all youth ages 6 to 15.
**Again this year, we have distinguished our categories into elite, beginner and challenger. Each will have its own separate race with juniors and seniors. To be eligible for the elite category, athletes must have completed 3 triathlons. Anyone is eligible for the beginner race- athletes of all abilities and competitiveness are welcome.
Children ages 6-9 will complete a 50-yard swim in the school’s Huffman Athletic Center swimming pool, a 2.2-mile bike ride on Cave Spring Road (closed to traffic during the race) and a .5-mile run on the campus.
Participants ages 10-15 will complete a 100-yard swim, 4.4-mile bike ride and 1-mile run.
There will also be a challenger category. These athletes will complete a distance appropriate for each.
Elite races will begin at 1:00 pm on Sunday, April 28, 2019, with the senior division first followed by the junior division.
Beginner races will begin at approximately 2:00.
Challenger race will begin immediately following beginner race.
Packet Pickup and the transition area will open at 11:30 am. on race morning.
Finisher medals, t-shirts and goody bags for all participants! (A limited number of scholarships are available)
All proceeds from the race will benefit the The Boys & Girls Club of Rome, GA.
