Long Description
Almost 3 years ago we found out that our son Caleb would be born with something called fibular hemimelia. This meant he was missing his fibula bone in his lower leg, so his ankle and foot would not develop properly. At the age of 10 months (May 8, 2013), Caleb had to have amputation surgery, so that he could be fitted for a prosthetic leg. Since then he has been thriving! Despite challenges he may face, nothing can slow down this happy, energetic 2 year old!
This 5K and Fun Run event is to benefit the Scott Rigsby Foundation, which helps raise money for amputees, and Wounded Warriors. Scott was the first double amputee to finish the Hawaiian Ironman race, and wrote a book entitled "Unthinkable", detailing his journey as an amputee, and an Ironman. Scott has become an inspiration, and a friend.
